DONNIE’S JOURNAL
Total miles pledged =49 miles! Expect to make this stop in good shape. I joined the Rotary Club this morning for their meeting. Had lunch at the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge - I am stuffed! Met with Joe Vancil, Governor Lodge #1993, to discuss details for our weekend visit. Proceeded to Good Shepherd - met with Billy Harrison and his wife. Stopped by the Colonial Heights Moose Lodge but missed seeing Michael Harris. It is noteworthy that this is only the 2nd time I have had to break out my poncho in the 23 days I have been walking! I will be returning to Boys' Home campus for the Awards Banquet for our boys on Thursday, then bringing some boys back with me this weekend to start walking again from where I left off. Cont. Friday afternoon, May 27 – The Donnie and Boys Walk Across Virginia van left campus with Daniel G, Dylan, Raynaldo, Daniel S. and Hunter, accompanied by staff members, Mr. Donnie Costigan and Ms. Nikki Brown. Solomon and Reggie are also part of the weekend walkers. We are headed to Dinwiddie as guests of the local Moose lodge. The trip started well as the lodge treated us to a pizza party and lodging at a local motel. Women of the Moose also presented us with a donation. Thank you!
